The route
The Autoroute Blanche to Le Fayet, then the Route Blanche.
From Geneva Airport we cross into France and take the A40 — the Autoroute Blanche — towards Mont-Blanc. At Le Fayet the motorway becomes the N205, the Route Blanche, a dual carriageway that climbs the valley to Chamonix and the Mont Blanc Tunnel.
It is one of the shortest ski transfers from Geneva, under 100 km, and the whole way is motorway or dual carriageway.

Which part of the valley?
From Les Houches the valley runs up through Chamonix, Les Praz and Argentière to Le Tour. Give us the address: a chalet in Argentière is a different drop from one in the town centre.
Separate ski areas
Les Houches, Brévent-Flégère, the Grands Montets above Argentière and Balme at Le Tour are separate areas, not linked on skis — which is why where you stay matters.
Around the town centre
The town-centre car parks are underground with low headroom; a minibus does not use them. We drop the group at street level as close to the door as the streets allow.
Weekend traffic on the A40
On holiday changeover Saturdays the A40 carries more than twice its usual traffic, with queues at the toll plazas. Arrivals towards Chamonix are heaviest from late morning; an early pick-up helps.

Train via Saint-Gervais-Le Fayet
The mountain railway from Saint-Gervais-Le Fayet runs up the valley through Chamonix to Vallorcine, where it connects with the Mont-Blanc Express to Martigny. With a group and skis, it means several changes after the flight.
Scheduled coach from Geneva
Scheduled coaches run from Geneva Airport to the Chamonix Sud bus station in about 1 h 40. They suit one or two travellers; from the bus station you still need a way to the chalet.
A private minibus
It leaves when your group has landed, goes straight to your address, and costs the same whether you are 8 or 16 — which is why, for a whole chalet, it often works out close to the per-seat price of shared transport.

Do we need passports?
Chamonix is in France, so the route crosses the Swiss–French border. Every passenger, children included, should carry a valid passport or national ID card.
Can you continue to Courmayeur through the Mont Blanc Tunnel?
Yes — the 11.6 km tunnel to Italy starts just above Chamonix. Enter your Courmayeur address in the booking form for the price.
